Opis

Carmo lithium-ion alternator regulator SUZUKI RÓŻ.

A Carmo *LI* lithium-ion alternator regulator is always a good choice. This is because Carmo manufactures its regulators in accordance with the original in terms of design and performance. In addition, Carmo regulators use modern MOSFET technology. This means they can also be used with the latest lithium-ion batteries.

Suitable for the following battery types:
  • All lead-acid batteries (conventional, AGM/microfibre, gel)
  • Lithium-ion batteries
Good to know:
  • Alternator regulators work closely with your motorcycle's alternator. They convert alternating current into direct current and feed it into the vehicle's electrical system. They ‘regulate’ that all electrical consumers receive enough energy for their functions.
  • Any excess voltage is used to recharge the vehicle battery. However, this also causes wear and tear on the regulator.
  • It is hardly noticeable and usually only becomes apparent when it is too late that the regulator has completely stopped working after many years and thousands of kilometres.
  • You should therefore check the performance of your regulator regularly and replace it if it malfunctions.
  • A malfunction can cause the motorcycle battery to receive too little charging current and discharge.
  • However, overcharging is also possible: this is particularly fatal when converting to Li-ion batteries, as it destroys these batteries in a very short time.

Information on converting from lead/acid to Li-ion batteries:
  • Switching from a conventional starter battery (lead battery) to a lithium battery is generally possible on almost all motorcycles.
  • If the conversion does not cause any problems or restrictions, no action is required.
  • Note the year of manufacture of the motorcycle – was it delivered from the factory with a lead battery? Many older motorcycles have alternator regulators that only charge lithium batteries incompletely or deliver excessive charging currents.
  • This is also due to normal wear and tear on the regulators over the years. Both can lead to a significant reduction in the service life of Li batteries, ranging from defects to total failure.
  • Check the function and performance of your motorcycle's charge current regulator before converting to a lithium-ion battery.
  • The best way to do this is to use a voltmeter on the battery terminals to measure how high the charging voltage rises when you increase the idle speed. The charging voltage should remain below 14.6 volts.
  • If in doubt, or to be on the safe side, replace the old regulator with a Carmo Li-Ion alternator regulator.
